April/May 06 Skegness water leisure park, Skegness, Lincs

This meet was very memorable for me, it was my 'saga' birthday and unbeknown to me there was a surprise in store by way of a cocktail evening. Martin had vowed he would never go to the east coast but he made an exception for this extended weekend.

Though Alan had tried in secret to get some suitable clothes for me to wear, through one thing and another I found out about them so I knew something was going to happen. In the afternoon I was whisked off by Alan, Peg and Bo to walk the dogs and on my return was ordered to get into my 'cocktail clothes' together with tiara, (the clothes made me look more like 70, queen mum springs to mind, but ah well in for a penny as they say.)

I was then ushered to the 'cocktail lounge' (a couple of gazebo's joined together,) with sides on I might add, where there awaited a bar that the lads had made, a buffet that the gals had laid on and all of them dressed up to the nines.
There were balloons and even candelabras, the cocktails were weird and wonderful and a good time was had by all.

May 06 Newhall Farm, Soutwell, Notts.

On this meet we went walking, in the evening I remember we congregated for drinks in the summer house type of building that the farmer had put there as a look out for bird watching, we got the impression from his frosty reception the next day that he wasn't very thrilled that we had changed it's use.

July 06 Rutland Caravan and camping park, Greetham, Rutland.

Again we went walking, and then lunch on Sunday.

Aug 06 Steam Rally, Lincs Showground.

This weekend we celebrated Jans 'saga' birthday, we all dressed up as cowboys and Indian's had a mass bar b que. The weather was really kind to us and a good time was had by all at the Rally.

Oct 06 Houghton mill, St Ives, Cambs.

Saturday was spent walking into St Ives, Sunday saw another conker tournament, this time Alan was the champion.

Nov 06 Tallington lakes, Stamford Lincs.

Amongst other activities this weekend featured Peg and myself on karaoke in the club house.

April 07 Mooredge farm, Tansley Derby's.

This was an extended Easter weekend, it was unusually warm and we spent some of it walking. It was only a small site but it had a swimming pool, we went in a couple of times and it was excellent because had it to ourselves. For us it was sad because it was the start of Holly's decline, her cancer had returned and she wasn't able to go walking as she had in the past.

April 07 Oaklea, Woodhall Spa, Lincs.

It was very warm again this weekend, some went to the aviatio
n museum, we stayed on site with Holly, she was happy just laying soaking up the sun.

May 07 Woodland waters, Ancaster, Lincs.

This was the first meet of this year where everyone was there, some went to visit Belton house and some went to the Bubble car museum, we did a couple of walks too.

June 07 Cosgrove, Northants.

Again it was very hot, we went to the canal museum, but for us most of the time was spent with Holly and Lucy.

June 07 Clumber Park, Notts.

We went here especially for the country fair we had to dodge the showers which were heavy at times so after all the nice weather we had been having it was a shame.
Holly's cancer was very rampant by this time, although she could still go for short walks we could see her lesions were getting her down, sadly we knew this was going to be her last outing.

Aug 07 Newhaven, Derby's.

We took our bikes her and on Saturday rode along the Tissington trail to Ashbourne, 11 miles each way and a diversion to a beer festival I reckon we did about 26 miles, there were some sore butts that day but it was really enjoyable.
We had bought a trailer for Lucy to go on the back of Al's bike, she really thought she was top dog.

Sept 07 Smeetons Lakes, Newark, Notts.

On Saturday we went in to Newark then on Sunday did a bit of bird watching with Tosh and Dawn.

Oct 07 The Dirty Duck, Woolsthorpe, Lincs.

The weather was really nice here for the time of year, we walked by the canal and had a meal at the pub on Saturday night.
